Description of the Opportunity

Opportunity to make $45-60+K/year part time
We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate acupuncturist for 3 community shifts and 1-2 private acupuncture shifts per week. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative group practice and to be mentored in real time by a seasoned acupuncturist and herbalist with 30 years of clinical practice in both private and community acupuncture.
We’ve been open since 2010 in the heart of downtown Petaluma and we have extremely loyal patients, an apothecary open to the public as well as an extensive herbal prescribing pharmacy of powders and tinctures (Chinese and Western herbs) for patients. You'll have full time reception and be part of a creative, cooperative staff culture. We value innovative ideas and encourage learning, no matter how long you've been practicing. Some of our best practitioners started working with us when the ink was still wet on their licenses.
You'll see a broad range of conditions including pain of all kinds, anxiety, depression and insomnia, digestive issues, women’s health including infertility, migraines and autoimmune conditions and learn to think and move quickly and efficiently while developing strong connections with your patients and providing truly excellent care.
There is plenty of room in this position for growth and further career advancement.
Our primary focus is on adults of all ages but we do see some children. If you’re interested in pediatrics there’s an opportunity to develop a pediatric practice seeing children privately.
You're aware that healing is a collaboration between practitioner and patient and you know the importance of good communication with a team. You want to be supported while you flow in your zone of genius, providing excellent care to patients.
You love Chinese Medicine. The idea of treating 5-6 patients per hour effectively inspires and excites you.
Community acupuncture requires a quick wit and the desire to develop a laser-like ability to connect with a patient, diagnose, locate points and develop a treatment plan to treat patients quickly and effectively. These skills benefit you in all aspects of your healing practice as well as in life in general. Our patients feel nurtured and held in a beautiful, calm space and leave feeling better and hopeful for their future.
Our team practices specific skills together to keep the healthy qi flowing so that working together is a reflection of the good qi we cultivate with patients. (Don’t worry, they are easy to learn and implement and we will teach them to you!). We have amazing systems in place that hold the flow so we are able to help a lot of patients in a way that is sustainable and regenerative.
We treat using a combination of TCM and Balance method with some Master Tung. We’re generally speaking not a trigger point or sports medicine clinic and our approach is about getting to the root of the problem. If you are a herb nerd, all the better! We use gentle needling and finer gauge needles. We do a lot of cupping and quite a bit of gua sha.
A FEW MUSTS:
• A desire to learn and an ability to take feedback
• A great sense of humor.
• Flexibility and the desire to be part of a team and good rapport with patients and team
• An active CA acupuncture license in good standing.
• An interest in collaborating with the other acupuncturists and front desk staff
• Ability and willingness to work at least one weekend day

OUR WISH LIST (but not requirements):
• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Special interest in women’s health and fertility
• Versed in distal acupuncture methods
• Community acupuncture experience
• Some functional medicine experience and/or strong herbal prescribing skills.
