Accreditation Status and Austin Campus Closure

AIMC closed its Austin, Texas campus effective September 11, 2026, after the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) approved our substantive change notification and teach-out plan on August 28, 2026. Instruction and clinical operations in Austin ended September 10. Currently enrolled Austin students are served under the ACAHM-approved teach-out plan, including our arrangement with Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. Austin student record requests continue through AIMC Berkeley. The Berkeley campus remains open. AIMC ceased enrolling students in its ACAHM-accredited programs at all locations on July 28, 2026, and is not accepting new applications.

Public Disclosure of Accreditation Status

Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College and its following programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM):
(1) Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization
(2) Doctor of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization

• including a Doctor of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization degree completion track

AIMC has voluntarily ceased enrolling students in its ACAHM-accredited programs at all locations effective 28 July 2026.

AIMC has voluntarily closed its Austin, Texas campus location effective 11 September 2026 and has instituted an ACAHM-approved teach-out plan for currently enrolled students.

The programs listed above may offer courses via distance education.

ACAHM does not accredit any programs at the undergraduate/bachelor level.

AIMC is approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education under Section 94897 (l) of the State of California Education Code. Approval to Operate means compliance with state standards as set forth in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009.

AIMC is authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to issue Form 1-20, enabling eligible prospective international students to apply for an F1- Student Visa.

Since its inception, the Council has been driven by a single overriding commitment to deepen practitioners' knowledge, understanding and skills. The Council leadership and member colleges are credited for having continually reviewed, refined, and expanded the basic acupuncture & herbal medicine program  "core curriculum", the description of essential knowledge and skills taught by all member programs.
