Transfer Students
We make transferring easy, personal, and supportive—so you can keep moving forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
Step 1. Reach Out
Whether you attend an open house, come to one of our clinics, or complete a campus tour, reaching out will give you a chance to immerse yourself in AIMC. Open House dates and access to our Eventbrite can be found under "EVENTS" at the top of this page, but to receive a more personalized conversation and information, reach out by requesting more information.
Step 3. Transfer Credit Evaluation - Get Credit for the Work You’ve Already Done
Already on your path to becoming an acupuncturist or East Asian medicine practitioner? Bring your hard-earned credits with you and keep moving forward at AIMC.
If you’re coming from one of the following institutions, you can view our transfer crosswalks for a clear overview of how your courses align with AIMC’s curriculum:
[AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine Transfer Crosswalk]
[American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Transfer Crosswalk]
[Oregon College of Oriental Medicine Transfer Crosswalk]
[Wongu University of Oriental Medicine Transfer Crosswalk]
[Emperor’s College Transfer Crosswalk]
If your school is not listed, simply email your unofficial transcripts to start@aimc.edu for a preliminary review. We’ll map your completed courses to AIMC’s equivalents and share the results with you.
Transfer Credit Guidelines
These limits are set by our accreditor, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) and apply under normal circumstances:Didactic Coursework: At least 50% of total didactic units must be completed at AIMC.
Clinical Coursework: At least 75% of total clinical units must be completed at AIMC, with a maximum of 240 clinical hours transferable.
Transfer credit is granted only for courses comparable in content, clock hours, and rigor to AIMC’s curriculum, completed with a grade of C or higher.
Special Case — Teach-Out Partner Schools
If you are transferring from a school where AIMC has entered into a formal teach-out agreement, these limits may not apply. Teach-out students are evaluated under the terms of the agreement to maximize transferable credit and ensure a smooth academic transition.Step 4. Advising
Once we have a clear picture of your academic career, we will be able to properly advise you on your program. Every student is unique, and advising can help you connect with AIMC personnel and form a clear degree plan.
