Welcome to the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College’s Herbal Pharmacy! Here at AIMC Berkeley, we take the utmost pride in knowing our students are prepared to become successful and accomplished practitioners of acupuncture and herbal medicine.
The education begins right here in the Herbal Pharmacy. All students will complete one Herbal Pharmacy Intern shift under the supervision of a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbal Pharmacist where they will learn the basics of maintaining an Integrative Medicine Pharmacy. Students are taught the basics of herbal compounding; how to correctly administer herbal formulations; how to identify herb and drug interactions; and establish cleanliness guidelines as outlined by the Food and Drug Administration, as well as the California Board of Pharmacy.
AIMC Berkeley provides a wide range of products for our patients including herbal pills, granular extracts, raw herbs, topical oils, creams, and supplements. We take the health and safety of our patients very seriously, so all our medicinals are purchased from growers and manufacturers that provide the highest quality herbs. All the products in our pharmacy are tested for heavy metals, spores, and pesticide residues to provide patients with the finest medicine!
Athene Eisenhardt, L.Ac, CMP, is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Sound Healer. She graduated from Five Branches University with a specialty in Herbology and Five Element Acupuncture. She brings great love and enthusiasm for herbs and plants, which began 20 years ago with a BS in Botany, followed many years of professional work experience as a Field Botanist. Her love of plants and the natural world led her to study their uses, and begin wildcrafting and making her own herbal medicines. This led to formal study of Western, Ayurvedic, and Chinese Herbalism, as well as leading medicinal herb walks in the California Sierras with the Evergreen
School of Integrative Herbalism. Athene also lived and trained in the indigenous plant spirit healing tradition of the Amazon for 2 years, and
continues her work in this tradition by facilitating and guiding others to train with herbal medicine in the traditional ways of the Shipibo tribe.
Athene has also served on the faculty of Cypress Health Institute in Santa Cruz, CA as Human Physiology Instructor. She currently maintains a private
practice in Oakland where she offers Acupuncture, Herbs, and Sound Healing.
"One of my favorite things about AIMC is the sense of community. We come together to support each other through challenges. Instead of a sense of competitiveness between students, there is a caring community that lifts everybody up. The faculty and staff are approachable and provide wonderful support during your graduate journey.- Master’s Student
