Production / Studio Assistant — Alchemica Botanica TCM Essential Oils

Location: Lower Pacific Heights, San Francisco (free 2 hour street parking and 2 blocks from the 38 bus line)
Schedule: 2 days/week, 4-hour shifts, flexible hours
Pay: $25/hour during training, $30/hour once tasks are performed independently

About Us
Alchemica Botanica is a small, close-knit team bringing the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) essential oils into the Western world. Our owner, Evelyn Robert, L.Ac, is a longtime student of Master Jeffrey Yuen, and his teachings inspired the beginning of the Alchemica Botanica company. You'll work closely, side-by-side, with Evelyn, who has been a Chinese Medicine practitioner in San Francisco since the late 80’s. This is a hands-on, high-trust role on a small team.

The Role
We're looking for a Jack/Jill-of-all-trades assistant who's equally comfortable at a computer and at a workbench. Attention to detail is a must! You'll help keep the daily operations of the studio running smoothly, and as you master the fundamentals, there's room to grow into more creative territory.

Computer Work:
- Email correspondence
- Managing and fulfilling daily customer orders
- Processing orders from distributors, including LHASA, Golden Needle, and Golden Flower
- Communicating with customers and distributors
- Website maintenance and management (Squarespace)

Hands-On Work:
- Pouring, bottling, and labeling essential oils, nutritional oils, and sprays
- Making essential oil blends (based on traditional Chinese herbal formulas), and combining ingredients for essential oil bath salts and sprays.

Room to Grow
Once daily and weekly tasks are mastered, there is ongoing opportunity to contribute creatively — developing new essential oil products and blends, graphic design, marketing, and social media content.

What We're Looking For
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling varied tasks
- Comfortable with computer work (email, order management, basic website updates, organization)
- Willing to do hands-on production work (bottling, labeling, blending)
- Interest in or curiosity about TCM, herbalism, or essential oils is a plus – this role would be great for an acupuncture student, recent graduate, or someone looking to work with Chinese Medicine in a different way than a patient-facing role.
- Able to work closely and communicate well in a small-team setting
