(2 NCCAOM PDAs: Ethics) This course explores current issues in ethics and safety for acupuncturists, with a focus on professional standards, malpractice prevention, informed consent, and patient rights. Participants will review the Six Pillars of Ethics, the NCCAOM Code of Ethics and practice applying a step-by-step framework for resolving ethical dilemmas in clinical settings. Key topics include record keeping and HIPAA compliance, scope of practice and professional boundaries, FDA and FTC regulations for herbal products, and strategies to reduce risk in patient care. Through brief case studies and practical readings, attendees will strengthen their ability to navigate ethical challenges, uphold professionalism, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
