16 NCCAOM PDAs: Biomedicine #PDA-1026-22 This 16-hour module provides acupuncturists with a biomedical foundation in inflammation, genetics, food sensitivities, and their integration with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Functional Medicine frameworks. Students will explore the biochemical pathways of inflammation, the impact of genetic polymorphisms (methylation, APOE), and the immunological differences between food allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, critical appraisal of functional medicine concepts, and scope-appropriate application for licensed acupuncturists. Structure: Readings separated by a handful of Brief Coaching Videos This online course is composed mostly of reading to accommodate learning in varying environments. Due to the density of the information, brief coaching videos help to keep you on track with key takeaways.
