At Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC), Berkeley, our students train in Traditional Chinese Medicine while also combining the best of biomedicine, French, Japanese, and Western medicinal practices. Steps to become a Doctor of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine

Master’s Degree (MSTAM)

Designed for future acupuncturists who want to practice East Asian Medicine with a strong emphasis on integrative medicine, this program is the fastest route to getting your license. This 10 term program can be completed in as little as three and a half years.

Coursework includes didactic learning, hands-on learning, and clinical internship hours supervised by Acupuncturists at the top of the field.

Designed for future acupuncturists who want to use the full scope of practice allowed under their license. This 12 term program can be completed in as little as four years.

This program includes all Master’s degree content, plus:

  • Ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic imaging
  • Functional medicine nutrition & exercise counseling
  • Integrative & Collaborative care for complex diseases

Doctoral Completion Program for Acupuncturists (DAIM)

Designed for current Acupuncturists who want to earn their doctorate & continue working full-time. Complete this program in as little as 30 weeks.

Graduate ready to:

  • Order and interpret labs and diagnostic imaging
  • Collaborate with other practitioners to provide patient care for complex diseases
  • Incorporate scholarship, research, evidence-based, and functional medicine into clinical practice
  • Apply Japanese diagnosis to prescribe classical herbal formulas
  • Utilize advanced Orthopedic care techniques such as trigger point acupuncture, Dr. Tan’s, & Master Tung’s needling systems
  • Publish a book or teach a CEU based on your Doctoral Research Project
