In addition to shifts in our on-site Clinic, AIMC Berkeley currently offers several off-site clinical internship opportunities for our students. These are unique opportunities for students to experience and participate in professional environments focused on a specific type of care.

UC Berkeley Sports Medicine

The UC Berkeley off-site clinical internship at the Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance provides our students with a unique opportunity to work with world-class athletes. The internship is supervised by Glenn Oberman, OMD, LaC, who specializes in orthopedics.

Charlotte Maxwell Clinic – Oakland

Life-enhancing complementary therapies for low-income, underserved, and immigrant in San Francisco Bay Area women with cancer. Community acupuncture clinic allows our interns to provide an integrative approach including herbal supplements to deliver utmost care.

SF Women’s Resource Center

AIMC is grateful to be part of the WRC community, continuing this shift passed on by ACTCM (American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, SF). The San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) was designed for women by women. The WRC also provides evidence based, gender responsive, trauma informed re-entry services for cis and transgender females. Along with their wide range of community-based services, we nurture their well-being with auricular acupuncture and ear seeds to stimulate the points corresponding to the organs or body parts that need support.

SF Homeless Prenatal Program

Nationally recognized family resource center in San Francisco, empowering homeless and low-income families – particularly expecting women and mothers in parenthood. We offer drop-in acupuncture sessions for not only the prenatal population, but also for their family, friends, and the HPP staff. AIMC interns provide acupressure, auricular acupuncture, body points on extremities, and/or ear seeds to care for overall health and its management.

"One of my favorite things about AIMC is the sense of community. We come together to support each other through challenges. Instead of a sense of competitiveness between students, there is a caring community that lifts everybody up. The faculty and staff are approachable and provide wonderful support during your graduate journey."
