Pending Approval by CAB for 7 CE units.

About the course: Join Dr. Jorge Nunez for a day of learning and refining the practical use of this powerful Master Tung family tradition. Master Tung Acupuncture can be used to achieve rapid results in your practice. Going beyond simple point locations and indications, this course will focus on developing the hand skills and needling techniques traditionally used with this system. The Master Tung family system has gained the reputation for providing quick clinical results. Although there exist many resources to support the understanding of the indications of the points in this unique system, it is less common to find expertise regarding the specific needling techniques traditionally used to get optimal results. Jorge Nunez has extensive experience with mutliple disciples of Master Tung. Using a combination of effective point selection and “shou fa,” or hand methods, the focus of this one day seminar will be on practical application and correct technique for common clinical complaints.

In the morning, students will learn the Fundamentals of the Master Tung system & needling technique principles. Throughout the day students will learn to use the 20 most important points in the Master Tung system, focused especially on zones 11-44 for upper extremity points & pain relief as well as zones 55-88 for the lower extremity.

Acupuncturist Jorge Nunez smilesAbout the Instructor: Dr. Nunez has studied extensively with Dr. Wei-Chieh Young, a direct disciple of Master Tung, as well as many other Tung illuminaries. At his busy practice at Octagon Community Acupuncture, Dr. Nunez has successfully treated thousands of patients with this method. He has taught this material at both the masters’ and doctoral level for many years, and supervised hundreds students in clinical programs. The elegance and clinical efficacy of this system will bring your practice to the next level in a single day of instruction.

Traditional Manual Therapy for Common Orthopedic Complaints

2550 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704 2550 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA

14 CEUs available pending CAB approval

Amplify your ability to use palpation and manual techniques to address Orthopedic complaints and pain in your clinic. Gain valuable insights & practice as to how simple, hands-on skills can have a meaningful impact on clinical outcomes.

Tui Na manual therapy has been used for hundreds of years as a complete approach for whole-body health. Based on TCM understandings of channel and point anatomy, simple hand techniques are used to facilitate and balance the flow of blood and energy through the entire system. Although often used for needle-averse patients, these approaches can help in a wide variety of clinical settings. Join us for this special weekend to joyfully practice, give, and receive this profound therapy with one of the most influential teachers in modern Tui Na practice, Brian O’Dea.

In this two day workshop, participants will learn: to adapt an Acupuncturist’s understanding of meridian therapy and diagnosis to manual therapy; correct body posture, angle, and hand technique to activate and balance a patient’s energy without compromising practitioner health; comprehensive full-body approaches and how to address more local disorders with Tui Na, and the relationship between personal cultivation techniques, such as Qi Gong, with manual therapy approaches to improve clinical results & prevent provider burn-out.
