PART 1: Intro to Traditional East Asian Medicine

What is Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine?

Join us for this live-taught, interactive 4-week online course which explores basic theories and clinical applications of East Asian medicine. Those who complete this course are encouraged to also enroll in Part 2 of this introductory series.

About the Instructor

Dr. Rebecca Riggs, DACM, LAc. in green archway Rebecca Riggs specializes in a style of acupuncture that is comfortable, safe, and effective. It’s excellent for chronic conditions such as diabetes, allergies, and autoimmune conditions. She is a graduate of AIMC and runs a private practice between Benicia & Oakland.

Join us for this 4-week online course which explores the general use of herbal medicine, acupressure, & seasonal awareness to enhance health, reduce stress & anxiety, and learn anti-agining techniques. Learn first-hand from AIMC teachers & clinic supervisors. Those who enroll in this course may also be interested in Part 1 of this introductory series.

About the Instructors

Dennis von Elgg in front of tree and leaves Dennis von Elgg, LAc. has taught at AIMC since 2002. He has traveled to Sichuan Province in China, working and studying at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Practicing in the inpatient and outpatient departments of the hospital, Dennis worked in a wide variety of areas including pain management, respiratory, GI and liver disorders, diabetes, stroke rehabilitation, age related illnesses and reproductive health.

Dr. Kim Peirano smiling Dr. Kim Peirano, DACM, LAc. is a practicing Acupuncturist in Marin County, a graduate from the Master’s program at AIMC and holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She is a published author, columnist for Acupuncture Today Magazine, wellness speaker, and intuitive healer. Dr. Kim is a specialist and educator in Integrative Cosmetic Acupuncture and Mindfulness Meditation for the Treatment Room. She believes that melding the spiritual aspects with continuously emerging research makes for a rich healing dynamic.
