The Mystical Aspect of Taoism with Repose Method & the 13 Ghost Points
October 23 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
4 CEU hours pending CAB approval
About the Course: Objectives of the course is to demystify the 13 Ghost Points as related to the concept of a ‘Ghost’. This peculiar grouping of acupuncture points first appeared as “The Song of the 13 Ghost Points” written in the book “The Thousand Gold Prescriptions” by Sun Simiao. This book discusses Life Saving Remedies Gynecology, Pediatrics, Mental Disorders, Pathology Mechanisms and Treatment Strategies. It is one of the earliest textbooks to discuss ethics in medicine and a moral code that should be followed by physicians. The points are well chosen and sequenced in such a way that disharmony is gently restored back into harmony.
By analyzing the concept of the 13 Ghost Points practitioners will have a better understanding of the relationship between: body, mind and spirit when treating their patients. Practicing medical Qi Gong “Repose” during the session will bring participants an awareness of their connection with themselves and further with their patients. That connection will help them become an advanced practitioner as Dr. Leon Hammer MD. L.Ac fully describes in his book, “The Patient-Practitioner Relationship in Acupuncture” (Thieme, 2009).
