June 27 @ 9:00 am - June 28 @ 5:30 pm

**Can be used towards certificate in Japanese Acupuncture**

Course: This seminar will focus on the basic theory of SJT and treatment strategy for the beginner and intermediate student and practitioner. It will provide a glimpse into the Tao of Taiji, the Ultimate Power of the Universe, through the lens of Master Shoji Kobayashi’s teachings of Shakuju Therapy (SJT). Using a simplified approach to teaching SJT fundamental theory and clinical applications, this class will help students learn to diagnose and treat patients, utilizing an understanding of the Physics and East Asian Medicine principles upon which SJT is based. Students will learn to evaluate the state of jing qi or cold in the body and how to combine this evaluation with pulse/abdomen diagnosis and treatment strategies to improve the constitution and overall health of their patients. At the end of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate a basic root treatment with Shakuju and Teishin needles. They will be able to describe methods for diagnosing the abdomen and pulse as well as noninsertive techniques such as contact needling and how to adjust the pulse.
