Ortho Made Simple understands that orthopedics can be  complex but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Similar to exercise, repeated exposure to carefully curated content over time is the key to mastering orthopedics and seamlessly integrating it into your practice. The program breaks down complex concepts one step at a time, ensuring that the information becomes an integral part of your acupuncture toolkit.

What You’ll Gain:

 Up to 29 CEU’s available CAB/NCCAOM  approval:  

  • Live Units: 12 in person (11/18-19) and 4 live webinar via zoom on (11/12 from 10-2) for a  total of 16 possible live units. If you can’t make the zoom then you can complete it for 4 online units.
  • Online Units: four 2 unit prep courses and one 4 unit course covering the neck and low back.

  • Small Group Forum: Connect with like minded practitioners and enjoy 1-on-1 email access to the instructor from 9 am to 5 pm,  Monday through Friday.

The Structure:

  • Online, pre-recorded:
  • -One free 1-hour CEU to determine if this course is right for you
    -Four 2 unit courses going over: Pain Science, Subjective & intake flow, Lifestyle factors, Communication tips
    -One 4 unit course going over: What we’ll do in the in-person courses, setting the stage, neuro & ortho tests and their parameters.

  • Online, live Zoom course:
  • -Clarify any questions or concerns about the online info.
    -More communication tips for connecting with patients and helping increase outcomes.

  • In-person, hands on courses:
  • -Practice, practice, practice.
    -Assessments & treatments for the low back.
    -Discussions of communication tactics.

About the Instructor:

John Ellis L.Ac., CMT, CPT, PN1, has an extensive  background in acupuncture, orthopedics, tui na manual  therapy, fitness, nutrition, and health coaching. During his  time at ACTCM, he had the privilege of serving as an assistant instructor from 2003 to 2006 for multiple  courses. He had the invaluable opportunity to intern  under the mentorship of Rocky Wang, L.Ac. as well as  become the lead Tui Na instructor at ACTCM after  Rocky’s departure. His commitment to mastering  acupuncture led him to undertake a rigorous 300-hour  orthopedics training program at Cedars Sinai, expanding  his knowledge in the treatment of musculoskeletal issues.  In addition John is a certified personal trainer, having  earned his certification in 2013 through the National  Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He furthered his  qualifications by obtaining certifications in corrective  fitness and fitness nutrition, also through NASM. John’s  dedication to holistic health and wellness led him to become a Precision Nutrition Health Coach in 2020. Since  2004, John has operated a successful private practice,  specializing in pain management and lifestyle medicine.  His patient-centered approach has helped numerous individuals from all walks of life find relief from pain and achieve healthier lifestyles. In 2016, he expanded his  horizons by joining the integrative medicine practice at Crossover Health located at Meta headquarters. In 2023,  he became a professor in the AIMC Doctoral Program in Orthopedics.
