Join us for a Live Webinar via Zoom on March 23, 2024 from 9am-1pm, this is the second course in our series Labwork for Acupuncturists

Course Content:

Lipid Profile Studies
Focus: Dyslipidemia and Cholesterol Profile
Cardiac Diagnostic Studies
Focus: Ischemic Heart Disease, Cardiac Enzyme Markers and ECG
Pulmonary Diagnostic Studies
Focus: Obstructive and Restrictive Lung Disease and Lung Capacity Profile

This standalone class is the second in a series of continuing educations courses teaching Licensed Acupuncturists to order & evaluate lab work. The next class and final course in the series will be taught on 4/14 from 9am-4pm and will focus on GI diagnostic studies and radiology.

*This course can be taken for credit within AIMC’s Doctoral Completion program; students enrolled in the program will earn credit toward graduation and CEU hours by attending this course. Courses taken for Continuing Education credit cannot be retroactively applied for Doctoral Completion credit; get in touch with the Admissions Office today if you’d like more information about enrolling in the Doctoral Completion program.

Please Note: Participants are required to attend the entire webinar event in order to obtain CEU credit per the policy of the California Acupuncture Board. Recordings of the content will not be available post event.

About the Instructor: 
AIMC Academic Dean, Dr. Wong, MD, DAOM, DipOM, L.Ac. was trained in both Traditional Medicine and Allopathic Biomedicine. He holds a Medical Doctor degree from Trisakti University in Indonesia and was trained as a general physician as well as in structural palpation-based acupuncture for physicians at Harvard Medical School. He later earned his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Dongguk University of Los Angeles.
He has a strong interest in the field of integrative medicine, scientific medical acupuncture & kinetic acupuncture. His acupuncture practice is primarily focused on orthopedic pain management, and he co-authored the text Acupuncture with Movement: Kinetic Acupuncture.

His professional career has been focused on the integration of clinical practice, academic teaching, and academic administrative leadership.
In Indonesia, he successfully founded the first medical acupuncture department in Arsani Hospital, promoting acupuncture services and education for both in-patient and out-patient care in collaboration with various departments including physiotherapy, internal medicine and neurology. He also served as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of Dongguk University Los Angeles and Chief Academic Officer of Alhambra Medical University, where he successfully helped both universities achieve program accreditation and improve academic assessment and development plans for masters and doctorate programs in acupuncture and traditional medicine.

Dr. Wong is passionate about graduate medical education, competency based medical education training, and academic and program assessment and improvement. His goal and dream is to promote a higher quality of graduate medical education in acupuncture and traditional medicine in the United States that is centered in its independent diagnostic patterns, integrated within system based practices, and aligned with the evidence-based medicine principles. He is excited to help AIMC Berkeley be the pioneer for this rebirth of modern Acupuncture training.
