In Part 1 of this series about our clinic, we want to introduce you to the who’s who behind the scenes and behind the front desk of the AIMC clinic. We’ve recently welcomed some new faces into our community, and we’re so grateful for the work they’re already doing to support our patients and our team of Chinese Medicine practitioners.
Dr. Ken Morris has been our Clinic Director since the fall of 2018. Ken is a native San Franciscan. He was first introduced to Chinese herbal medicine from his mother who was born in Hong Kong and came to the US at age 6. She passed on the tradition of boiling herbs to him at a young age. His curiosity led him to become one of the first masters program graduates of American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM). Ken completed his studies at the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China. After finishing his studies in Beijing in 1988, he started his journey as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. Ken has spent the last 30 years in private practice, community health, clinical research, and pain management specialty.

Kathryn is a welcome addition to the AIMC family who has been helping the Clinic run smoothly since the beginning of January. She shared that it is refreshing to be a part of such a “diverse community– race, gender, age, ability.” She manages the front desk staff, scheduling clinic shifts, and overseeing the clinic inventory. In addition to the great administrative skill set she brings to AIMC, Kathryn has an extensive artistic background, including acting, directing, choreographing and burlesquing. Front Desk Receptionist
While we often have students work behind the front desk, we also have a full time Front Desk Receptionist to ensure that our patient’s have access to scheduling support, to enable smooth communication between practitioners and patients, and to keep our files and communications organized.
The newest addition to our team, Livy, has fit right in to the position with her gentle and kind demeanor and positive attitude. Livy is a future MSW grad from USC with a focus in adult and geriatric mental health and wellness. She finds true happiness when she surrounded by friends and family. An even bigger plus if she gets to travel with them. She tends to be a little shy but loves to talk about theory, mental health, grief or anything beauty. Fun fact, she’s also a licensed cosmetologist. After graduation, she plans to get into medical social work and obtain licensure to become an LCSW.
