Shuji Goto, PhD

Dr. Goto is President of the Goto College of Medical Arts and Sciences in Tokyo, Japan. He holds an earned Ph.D. in medical sociology from the Showa University School of Medicine. He brings to the college extensive knowledge in the field of acupuncture on a worldwide basis. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Japan Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion., President of the Council of private Rehabilitation College of Japan, and Chair of the Foundation for Training and Licensure Examination in Anma-Massage-Acupressure-Acupuncture, Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Japan.

Wataru Takenouchi, MBA
Mr. Takenouchi earned his MBA at California State University, Sacramento. He is President of TACNA Corporation, a trans-national management consulting company located in Oakland, CA. Mr. Takenouchi is very familiar with the institution's primary service area (Oakland-Berkeley)

Lucy Sells, PhD
Dr. Sells holds the Ph.D. degree from UC Berkeley.. She is retired from the University of California, Berkeley following a very successful career as an educator. She also has distinguished herself as a research analyst and political activist in the institution's service area.

Donald Lauda, PhD
Dr. Lauda holds a Ph.D. degree from Iowa State University. He retired from California State University, Long Beach after nineteen years as Dean of the College of Health and Human Services. He brings to the Board extensive experience in health education, accreditation, and fund raising.

James Whitaker, MA
Mr. Whitaker received his MA from the University of Toronto. He began working in the insurance industry in 1975 and started James Whitaker & Associates in 1989, a marketing communications company specializing in the insurance industry. In 1992 he transformed his firm into a specialty publishing company (Smart's Publishing Group) serving the insurance industry with news and information and customized marketing publications. He served on the board of the Siskiyou Institute in Ashland, OR before joining AIMC Berkeley.

Kazuo Watanabe
Mr. Watanabe holds a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University, Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is President and CEO of Superior Methods Research Corporation in Tokyo specializing in medical seminars. Since 1985 he serves as a medical and business management assistant to Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, Chair of the Medical Board of Manhattan, New York. Mr. Watanabe has fifteen years of experience as a board member of acupuncture schools.

Ray Morris
Mr. Morris holds a certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. He served as department chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at that institution for twenty-four years. He brings to the Board extensive experience in higher education with a high level of expertise in curriculum development and accreditation.

Atsuki Maeda, LAc
Mr. Maeda is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Torrance, CA. His practice includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and therapeutic massage. He brings to the Board eighteen years of experience as a practitioner in Oriental medicine. He has taught at Emperor's College in Santa Monica over five years. He is licensed in California and Japan.

Ken Klucsor
Mr. Klucsor has over thirty years experience in business and management, serving fifteen years as a department manager for Kaiser Permanente. He is a licensed Bay Area real estate agent.
