Japanese acupuncture in this certification program includes Hari (Japanese for acupuncture), Meridian Therapy, Okyu (direct moxibustion), Hinai-shin/Enpi-shin (intra-dermal acupuncture and press-tack needles), Shoni-shin (pediatric acupuncture), and other methods and modalities. The certification program provides you with a solid foundation in the practice of these Japanese acupuncture modalities. Upon completion, you will be able to effectively apply Japanese acupuncture to the benefit of your patients in your clinical practice.

You will learn from some of the top Japanese acupuncture teachers in the world: Akizo Okada, Stephen Brown, Junji Mizutani, Katsuyuki Ooue, Hideyoshi Higuchi, and Hajime Nakane. Stephen Brown will also be providing translation for some of the classes, along with other highly proficient translators.

The Japanese Acupuncture Certification Program (JAc), spearheaded by both Dr. Shuji Goto (Chairman of Goto College of Medical Arts & Sciences and Chairman of AIMC Berkeley) and Akizo Okada (President of the Japan Meridian Therapy Association in Tokyo and Dean Emeritus of Traditional Japanese Medicine of the AIMC Berkeley), seeks to provide educational leadership and promote ongoing international exchange of expertise regarding Japanese acupuncture. International exchange is among the core values of the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley.
Upon completing this program, you will be able to effectively apply key aspects of Japanese acupuncture to benefit patients in your clinical practice. This program includes Hari (Japanese for acupuncture), Meridian Therapy, Okyu (moxibustion), Hinai-shin/Enpi-shin (Intra-dermal acupuncture), Shoni-shin (pediatric acupuncture), and other methods and modalities.

Six weekend seminars, 15 hours each; lecture and practical hands-on training.

You must complete five different Japanese Acupuncture seminars out of six and an additional ten hours of clinical report for each seminar to be submitted and evaluated. (50 hours minimum)

This program will be repeated every year as a series, so if you miss a class you will have an opportunity to take a similar one in the future
