VALUES & STRATEGIES:
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Some lectures in the acupuncture school and Integrative Medicine seminars at AIMC Berkeley....

The primary educational focus of the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley is our Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. Our goal is the training and education of successful practitioners of Oriental medicine. Our faculty, curriculum, and clinical experience promote the highest standards in order to achieve this goal. Our educational philosophy is competency based, learner-centered, and provides for continuing assessment and improvement.

Adjunct Faculty Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, LAc MS MM teaches facial rejuvenation to an international class of acupuncture students.AIMC Berkeley recognizes that our main program provides an entry-level education into the profession of Oriental Medicine and that medicine is a life-long learning. For this reason, AIMC Berkeley strongly advocates continuing education after graduation and licensure. To that end, the College provides classes, seminars and workshops for professionals interested in various topics to further their understanding of both Oriental Medicine and the Healing Arts, in general. Additionally, the College shall sponsor national and international experts to travel to and teach at the College.

AIMC Berkeley Certificate Programs augment our continuing education. These Certificate Programs provide an opportunity for intensive study in areas of various medical specialties. They range from 100 to 300 hours of didactic and clinic instruction and are offered in monthly or concentrated modules over the course of three months to one year. Varying by certificate, these programs will be attended by students, professional practitioners and/or interested members of the community.

People gather to gain information about integrative medicine at AIMC BerkeleyIn addition, AIMC Berkeley fosters community education and outreach through our Open Houses and Seminar Series on Integrative Medicine that occur tri-annually. Members of the College’s faculty and selected community healthcare providers lecture on current topics of medical interest in an open discussion format. These events also include a tour of the College, demonstrations and displays.
